Dr. Mohammad Taqi Joghtaei, the CSTC senior educational advisor, in a meeting with the members of the Central Council of the Student Scientific Associations Union of brain and cognition, called for the promotion and development of cognitive science knowledge in centers and institutes of higher education.

The senior advisor of council highlighted that, the formation of the Student Scientific Associations Union in the academic centers, is a positive step towards the strategic goals of the council for the further development of knowledge of cognitive science in centers and institutes of higher education in the country.

 

During this meeting, Dr. Joghtaei called for increased efforts to promote cognitive science knowledge at the academic centers, as well as leading elites and specialists in scientific fields to cognitive fields.

 

He announced the readiness of the CSTC for the serious support of Student Scientific Associations of the Brain and Cognition and noted that, increasing the quantitative and qualitative activities of these associations in centers and institutes of higher education is necessary.

 

Members of the Central Council of the Student Scientific Association Union of brain and cognition reported the activities of these associations at the universities and requested for more support from the CSTC for these student associations.

 

Student Scientific Associations of the Brain and Cognition were established based on an agreement between the CSTC, the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, and currently has more than 30 associations throughout the country.

 

The Central Council of the Student Scientific Association Union of brain and cognition was also established this September at the same time as holding a special educational school for teachers and members of these associations.

 

The development and promotion of cognitive science, expansion of interdisciplinary scientific collaborations, fostering convergence between related disciplines, and preparing the appropriate groundwork to familiarize other students with cognitive sciences, are among the goals of forming Student Scientific Association of the Brain and Cognition in the academic centers.

 

As a result of student scientific school, the support of the CSTC has led cognitive science subjects to become a priority of student research activities.
